Ready for the World in Seven Semesters
Studying doesn’t just take place in the lecture hall. With us, you will also experience lectures and seminars in numerous practical and research facilities, such as simulation and strategy games, laboratories, or Werk150, the factory on campus.
Structure and content
You will study for seven semesters, including a practical semester in a company and at least one study semester abroad. In the sixth semester, you can tailor part of your studies through elective modules. In the seventh semester, you will write your thesis.
Content focus
You will acquire comprehensive skills in production management. After graduation, you will be able to analyze, design, manage, and optimize technical and business systems.
In the 4th semester, you will complete an internship in a company (either in Germany or abroad) and gain insight into industrial practice. In the following semester abroad at one of our partner universities, you will deepen your English language skills and intercultural competencies. The final semester includes your bachelor’s thesis (usually written in a company, either in Germany or abroad). You will also apply your knowledge in company projects, simulations, and in our innovative factory test environment “Werk 150.”

Apply online via hochschulstart.de by January 15 (for the summer semester) or July 15 (for the winter semester). A direct application via the application portal of Reutlingen University is possible until February 28/29 or August 31.

How the online application works
Step 1: Register at hochschulstart.de, retrieve your applicant ID (BID) and applicant authentication number (BAN), and select your desired degree program at Reutlingen University.
Step 2: Register in the application portal of Reutlingen University and apply for your desired degree program:
You can submit up to twelve applications, three of which can be to Reutlingen University. If you activate email notifications, you will be informed about the current status of your application.
Step 3: Decide which of your selected degree programs you would most like to study, and set your priority on hochschulstart.de. After receiving an admission offer, applications with a lower priority may be withdrawn from the process. Therefore, be sure to place your chosen program at Reutlingen University in first position if it is your top choice.
